Piscataqua Savings Bank is the proud supporter of over 100 Seacoast area nonprofits. We’re highlighting a few of the nonprofits doing incredible, critical work in our Seacoast community with our Seacoast Spotlight Series. Next up in our spotlight is Greater Seacoast Community Health.

Greater Seacoast Community Health (GSCH) is a nonprofit organization rooted in the belief that every person deserves access to high-quality healthcare, regardless of age, income, or ability to pay. Based in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire, GSCH operates a network of community-based health centers and supportive programs that serve families, children, adults, and seniors with compassionate, comprehensive, and culturally competent care.

At its core, GSCH strives to remove barriers that prevent people from getting the care they need, whether due to cost, lack of insurance, transportation challenges, or other structural obstacles common in underserved communities. For thousands of people across the region each year, this nonprofit is not just a health provider, it’s a trusted partner in wellness and stability.

A Network of Care

One of the things that makes GSCH stand out is the range of services offered. They treat the whole person, not just symptoms, and that means thinking about health in a holistic way. Some of the services they provide include:

  • Primary Care: From routine checkups to chronic disease management and urgent care, they keep people healthy before problems become crises.
  • Pediatric and Prenatal Services: Helping families from pregnancy through childhood with individualized care.
  • Dental Care: Oral health services that are essential to overall well-being.
  • Behavioral Health & Counseling: Supporting mental health and emotional well-being for all ages.
  • Mobile Health Clinics: Bringing care directly to neighborhoods, shelters, and other community hubs so that people who face transportation or housing challenges aren’t left behind.
  • Family Support Services: Parenting classes, caregiver support, home visits, and programs that strengthen families socially and emotionally.
  • Insurance Assistance: Assisting individuals in understanding and enrolling in health coverage plans, including Medicaid and marketplace options.

This holistic service model reflects GSCH’s commitment to treating the whole person and not just isolated symptoms, recognizing that health is shaped by social, economic, and environmental factors.

Real Impact in the Seacoast

The impact of Greater Seacoast Community Health is both measurable and deeply personal. Thousands of patients access care each year through medical, dental, and behavioral health visits, with significant portions of those served coming from low-income or uninsured populations.

For example, in a recent year, GSCH provided care to over 14,000 individuals, delivered thousands of visits across disciplines, and distributed life-saving resources such as overdose prevention kits in partnership with local public health entities. Feedback from patients show the real human difference this care makes, whether it’s helping a family thrive, a person finding mental health stability, or someone navigating medical support during economic hardship.

Powered by Mission and Community

What drives GSCH is simple: a mission to provide innovative, compassionate, integrated care that’s accessible to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Their vision is just as clear,  a Seacoast where every person has the opportunity to live a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.

Of course, none of this would be possible without community support. As a nonprofit, GSCH relies on donations, grants, volunteers, and partnerships to keep their programs running and growing. Every gift, whether it’s time, money, or expertise, helps ensure more people get the care they deserve.

Looking Ahead

Greater Seacoast Community Health is more than a healthcare provider. It’s a hub of equity, compassion, and community-centered care. By bringing services directly into neighborhoods, supporting families, and treating the whole person, GSCH is helping to close gaps in healthcare access and ensure that no one is left behind due to financial hardship or systemic barriers.

In a world where health disparities are all too common, GSCH proves that healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Thanks to their work, the Seacoast community is healthier, stronger, and more supported.
