Piscataqua Savings Bank is proud to announce a new milestone in sustainability and community investment with the installation of a fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station at our downtown location, 15 Pleasant Street in Portsmouth, NH. The new ChargePoint CPE 250 DC Fast Charging unit is now fully operational and open to the public, offering a convenient, reliable way for both residents and visitors to quickly charge their electric vehicles in the heart of downtown.

As a Certified B Corporation, Piscataqua Savings Bank is committed to using business as a force for good, balancing purpose with profit and prioritizing environmental and social responsibility in everything we do. Installing the first Level 3 fast EV charger in downtown Portsmouth is another meaningful step toward that mission.

Powering Up Portsmouth

The new charger, installed in the parking lot behind our 15 Pleasant Street building, delivers up to 62 kW per port, providing a full charge in under an hour for most EVs. That means drivers can easily top off their battery while visiting local businesses or stopping by the bank itself.

With “range anxiety” often cited as a barrier to EV adoption, this addition brings accessible, high-speed charging right into the center of Portsmouth. “This is another example of the way that Piscataqua Savings Bank continues to invest in the community not just financially, but also through social and environmental initiatives,” said Antone Cabral, Executive Vice President & Chief Technology Officer at Piscataqua Savings Bank. “We continue to reinvent the concept of local banking to fit the needs of the 21st century.”

Partnership and Shared Purpose

To bring this project to life, Piscataqua Savings Bank partnered with ReVision Energy, New England’s leading employee-owned solar company. ReVision Energy managed the construction and installation of the new charging station, continuing its mission to build a just and equitable electric future.

“This is about more than just a celebration of electric vehicle charging at Piscataqua Savings Bank, it’s a demonstration of what happens when mission-driven businesses lead the way,” said Barry Woods, Director of e-Mobility at ReVision Energy. “As proud B Corps, both Piscataqua Savings Bank and ReVision Energy are committed to using business as a force for good, and this project brings cleaner transportation, community investment, and climate action all to the heart of downtown.”

Both Piscataqua Savings Bank and ReVision Energy share a long-standing commitment to sustainability and community impact. By working together, the organizations have created a valuable public amenity that promotes clean energy use and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while also making Portsmouth more EV-friendly for locals and visitors alike.

A Charge That’s Good for Everyone

The new fast charger is designed for ease of use and accessibility. ChargePoint, a trusted leader in EV charging networks across the U.S., provides an advanced interface that makes it simple for any driver to plug in and power up. The system also promotes sustainability through renewable energy certificates (RECs) – market-based instruments that represent the non-power benefits of one megawatt-hour of electricity generated from a renewable source and delivered to the grid.

“We know people like to do business with organizations that reflect their values,” added Cabral. If you’re here charging your car and you’re not already a customer, we invite you to come inside while you wait. We’d love to introduce ourselves, share what makes us different as a local, mission-driven bank, and show you how banking with us can be just as good for the community as it is for you.”
