Next up in our spotlight is Portsmouth Music & Arts Center (PMAC), an organization building community through the arts by providing all people with the opportunity to achieve their full creative potential, regardless of their age, ability, or economic status. 

Portsmouth Music & Arts Center (PMAC) has become a cornerstone of artistic education and enrichment in Portsmouth’s thriving music and arts scene by bringing access to high quality music and visual arts education programs and by creating ensemble, performance, and exhibition opportunities for students, professionals, and audiences. Through innovative programs, accessible education, and community engagement, PMAC strives to empower individuals of all ages to explore their artistic potential and enrich their lives through music and arts education.

History of Portsmouth Music & Arts Center

Founded in 2002, PMAC began as an initiative to fill a gap in the local arts education landscape. Over the years, it has grown into a dynamic hub of artistic expression, serving as a catalyst for cultural enrichment in the Portsmouth area and beyond. From its modest beginnings to its current stature as a leading arts organization, PMAC’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of creativity and community.

Throughout its history, PMAC has achieved numerous milestones and accolades, solidifying its reputation as a premier arts institution. PMAC’s major accomplishments include expanding its programs to cater to diverse interests and skill levels. They have also forged meaningful partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local businesses to enhance impact and reach. 

PMAC Services Provided: A Symphony of Opportunities

PMAC offers a comprehensive array of services designed to ignite creativity, foster skill development, and promote artistic excellence. These services include individual and group music lessons for a wide range of instruments and genres, taught by experienced instructors. Additionally, PMAC offers opportunities for students to participate in ensembles, bands, choirs, and theatrical productions, fostering collaboration and performance skills. Tuition aid is available so that all can have access to music and arts programs, regardless of their economic status, and especially during times of crisis.
